Mix, mingle, and play with New York alumni and friends!
Join the New York chapters of the WashU Asian Alumni Network (WUAAN) and the WashU Black Alumni Council (BAC) for an evening of connection around the game table. Mahjong tables will be guided by Sokie Lee, a longtime New Yorker born in Hong Kong who loves introducing new players to the game, and Rise and Fly Spades tables will be led by alumni “game captains” — seasoned card sharks who know the rules, don’t take themselves too seriously, and are ready to help you jump in. Whether you grew up playing, are a little rusty, or are learning for the first time, all experience levels are welcome.
Both games will be beginner‑friendly, with simple how‑to instructions so you can learn as you play. Come on your own or with friends, stay for a few rounds or the whole night, and enjoy light bites while you play and meet fellow alumni from across class years and schools.
