Join fellow WashU alumni for an enriching day of exploration at Cape Canaveral, where history and space exploration converge. This exclusive tour offers a unique opportunity to delve into the stories behind some of the area's most iconic landmarks.
Cape Canaveral Lighthouse and Museum: Begin your journey at the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse, a long-standing icon of the area. This working lighthouse is maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard while its upkeep is managed by Space Launch Delta 45, making it the only lighthouse owned by the U.S. Space Force. Learn about the fascinating history of the lighthouse and the efforts made to position it where it stands today. Adjacent to the lighthouse is a replica of the Keepers Cottage, which houses a museum detailing the lighthouse's significant role in maritime navigation and its connection to the space program.
Cape Canaveral Space Force Museum at Launch Complex 26: Next, immerse yourself in the annals of space exploration at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Museum. Located at the historic Launch Complex 26, this museum offers a deep dive into the milestones and achievements that defined the U.S. space program.
Hangar C Museum Annex: Conclude your tour with a visit to the Hangar C Museum Annex. Walk among restored missiles, rockets, and space capsules, and experience the engineering marvels that paved the way for modern space travel.
We will gather for a catered box lunch with fellow WashU Alumni parents and friends.
