Join the WashU Atlanta Network and the Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement for a morning of volunteering at the Atlanta Community Food Bank in the Product Resource Center. The Product Resource Center (PRC) provides a great hands-on experience in a diverse and social atmosphere. WashU volunteers will come together to inspect, sort, and pack quality grocery donations to prepare for distribution to over 600 partner agencies across Georgia.  Children over the age of 8 are welcome to join as well with parental supervision.
With 1 in every 5 Georgians and 1 in 4 Georgia children at risk of hunger, the number of people requesting emergency food assistance continues to grow. If every volunteer visiting our Product Resource Center brings just two cans of food, we would be able to provide approximately 2,750 additional meals each month!

WashU Engage is an initiative co-led by the Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement and the Washington University Alumni Association which aligns with the University’s commitment to supporting habits of lifelong learning and leadership for alumni and advances the Gephardt Institute’s mission of cultivating informed and actively engaged citizens.

Please consider bringing a nonperishable item with you to donate when you volunteer. The Food Bank is always in need of natural peanut butter, canned chicken, and canned fruits & vegetables. Click here for the Food Bank's full list of most needed food items: http://www.acfb.org/food-fund-drives

Please note: prior to participating, volunteers must complete an online registration form/waiver with the Food Bank.  More information will be provided in your final confirmation.
