Interested in publishing, an aspiring writer, or just enjoy a good book?  Join WashU alumni and friends for an exclusive talk with alumna author, Elsa Hart, JD '11. Elsa has published two highly acclaimed historical mystery novels and will be sharing her stories with us over coffee and desserts. She will talk about the writing process, how she got started and her journey through publishing.

All attendees will also receive a copy of Jade Dragon Mountain, the first in Elsa's Li Du Novels Series. The Washington Post said that it “Perfectly melds history with the mystery genre for a lush look at China on the cusp of change. Set in the early 1700s, Jade Dragon Mountain delivers a compelling look at Chinese politics, culture and religion, delivering the complexities of each with a character-rich story...One of the year's most engrossing debuts.”

Elsa Hart was born in Rome, Italy, but her earliest memories are of Moscow, where her family lived until 1991. Since then she has lived in the Czech Republic, the U.S.A., and China. She earned a B.A. from Swarthmore College and a J.D. from Washington University School of Law. She wrote her first novel, Jade Dragon Mountain, while living in the mountain borderlands of Southwest China.
