Our guest speaker is Andrea Urice, Teaching Professor of Drama, WashU Performance Arts Department. She is the Director of Our Town by Thornton Wilder.
Directing credits for the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis include premieres of Lewis’ plays Evie’s Waltz and Ordinary Nation, productions that garnered multiple St. Louis award nominations. In addition, Urice directed several productions with the Repertory Theatre’s touring Imaginary Theatre Company. Other professional directing and dramaturgical credits include Actors Theatre of Louisville, The Guthrie Theater, Milwaukee’s Theatre X, Steppenwolf Theatre, The Goodman Theatre and Organic Theatre. Urice has served as guest director and/or teacher at the Webster University Conservatory of Theatre Arts, the University of Virginia and the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. Urice received her MFA in Drama (directing emphasis) from the University of Virginia where she was a Jacob K. Javits Fellow.
