7:30 - 8:00 a.m. Continental Breakfast
8:00 - 9:00 a.m. Presentation

Is character destiny when it comes to leadership? As Thomas Jefferson put it, “God grant that men of principle shall be our principal men.” But how essential are qualities like integrity, trustworthiness and humility for a leader to be effective? And how much do we—or should we—care about the character of our leaders as long as they are delivering results we care about? In this symposium, top researchers who study the character of leaders will share their findings into key lessons about how, whether and why a leader’s character really matters.

Three TED-style talks featuring Olin Faculty:

Kurt Dirks, Vice Chancellor of International Affairs and Bank of America Professor of Leadership
Emily Grijalva, Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior
Lamar Pierce, Professor of Organization & Strategy and Associate Dean for Olin-Brookings Partnership

Moderated by Stuart Bunderson, Director of the Bauer Leadership Center and George & Carol Bauer Professor of Organizational Ethics & Governance
