WashU alumnae Sherie Pollack, animation director, and Laura Gutin, executive producer of Black-ish, will share their unusual paths to Hollywood and their love for storytelling. Laura Gutin Peterson is an Emmy-nominated writer/executive producer on ABC’s hit sitcom Black-ish. Previous writing credits include NBC’s The Carmichael Show, Enlisted on Fox, and Bojack Horseman on Netflix. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two children. She is very tired.

Sherie Pollack is an award winning, four-time Emmy-nominated writer/director/animator whose credits include Disney’s Amphibia, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and Pepper Ann; Nickeodeon’s Rocko’s Modern Life Movie, Fairly Odd Parents, Dora the Explorer, and Go, Diego Go!; Dreamworks' The Croods; Cartoon Network’s We Bear Bears movie and series; and more. In addition, her work in prime-time TV and features such as the Simpsons, God, the Devil and Bob, and Fern Gully inspires her to appeal to many audiences, and she relishes the challenge.
