Join the WashU Chicago Network and the William Greenleaf Eliot Society for dinner, networking, and an exciting talk about Positive Psychology by Professor Timothy J. Bono.

Professor Bono will discuss the scientific study of happiness and strategies for life satisfaction based on research in Positive Psychology, a field that emphasizes the positive side of human nature.  Our society sends us many messages about what should make us happy (which many people buy into—literally).  What does the research suggest about the validity of these messages?  The results may surprise you.

Timothy J. Bono is a Lecturer in the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences where his teaching and research focus on positive psychology and college student development.  He has won several teaching awards and his work has been featured in a number of national media outlets including CNN, NBC News, and the Associated Press. Tim received his BA, MA, and PhD in Psychology from Washington University. Over the last decade, thousands of WashU students have taken his popular courses on the Psychology of Young Adulthood and the Science of Happiness. He summarizes the research from those courses, along with how his students have put that information into practice in their own lives, in his new book entitled, When Likes Aren't Enough: A Crash Course in the Science of Happiness.
