Welcome back for your 30th reunion, Class of 1996!

Reunion is a special time to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate with your classmates. It is also a meaningful opportunity to honor your WashU experience by continuing the longstanding tradition of giving back.

As the Class of 1996 celebrates its 30th reunion, alumna Sandy Speicher ’BFA96 is marking this milestone by naming Washington University as a beneficiary in her estate plans — an enduring reflection of the education, mentorship, and support that shaped her journey.

Sandy’s experience at the Sam Fox School helped define how she sees and engages with the world, fostering creativity, curiosity, and a willingness to explore new ideas. She credits the guidance of Professor Sarah Birdsall, along with the encouragement of her parents and grandparents, for making it possible to fully embrace WashU’s academic and artistic opportunities. That combination of mentorship, belief, and access continues to inspire her commitment to the university.

In recognition of her reunion year, Sandy has issued a reunion challenge to the Class of 1996: to come together and reach 200 class donors. Participation — at any level — will help ensure that today’s students receive the same encouragement, perspective, and opportunity to grow that defined the Class of 1996 experience.

Every gift, of any size and to any area of the university, is a meaningful way to commemorate your time at Washington University and to support the next generation of students as they learn to think creatively, engage deeply, and contribute meaningfully to the world.
