Class of 1976
Class Gift Information
Welcome back for your 50th reunion, Class of 1976!
Reunion is a special time to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate with classmates. It is also a meaningful opportunity to honor your WashU experience through philanthropy. A gift of any amount to any area of the university helps continue the tradition of giving back that has long defined the Class of 1976.
As the Class of 1976 marks its 50th Reunion, classmate Henry Warshaw (AB ’76, MBA ’79) invites you to commemorate this milestone by coming together in support of Washington University. Motivated by the profound impact WashU has had on his life, Henry and his wife, Susan (MSW ’79), have made a $100,000 challenge gift in celebration of this reunion year.
Henry’s WashU experience was shaped by the freedom to explore across disciplines, inspiring faculty, and meaningful mentorship — elements that helped him discover his interests and build a lifelong foundation for leadership, entrepreneurship, and creativity. To extend the impact of this gift, the Warshaw Challenge calls on classmates to help reach a collective goal of 50 new or renewed Eliot Society members during the reunion year. Eliot Society membership, which recognizes annual giving of $1,000 or more, strengthens WashU across all schools and programs and ensures continued access to transformative opportunities for today’s students and future generations.
Washington University has remained a central part of Henry’s life and family across generations, instilling a deep commitment to opening doors for students and expanding access to health care. Through this challenge, he encourages classmates to reflect on their own WashU experiences and join him in investing in the university’s future — wherever their passions lie.
