Class of 1966
Class Gift Information
Welcome back for your 60th reunion, Class of 1966!
Reunion is a special time to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate with classmates. It is also a meaningful opportunity to honor your time on campus by continuing the longstanding tradition of giving back. A gift of any amount to any area of the university is a powerful way to commemorate your WashU experience.
As the Class of 1966 celebrates its 60th Reunion, classmates Glenda (AB ’66) and Bill (BS ’66) Finnie invite you to mark this milestone by coming together in support of Washington University. WashU has shaped nearly every chapter of their lives since they met in a sophomore Honors English class in 1963.
For Bill, a professor’s recommendation for a 1965 summer role at Anheuser-Busch opened doors that led to an Ivy League PhD, a 26-year career at Anheuser-Busch, and 38 years of teaching at Olin Business School. For Glenda, WashU laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to education and leadership — from earning a master’s degree in mathematics education to teaching at the secondary and collegiate levels, including three decades at Webster University, and serving her community through school governance.
Their enduring connection to WashU includes endowing the Outstanding Adjunct Professor Award and serving on their 50th, 55th, and now 60th reunion planning committees. None of these experiences would have been possible without the generous scholarship support they received as students from 1962–1966 — support that changed the course of their lives. In gratitude, and in celebration of this milestone reunion, they are committed to paying it forward.
To inspire classmates to join them, Glenda and Bill have made a $75,000 challenge gift in honor of their 60th Reunion. Every gift from a classmate will be matched dollar for dollar until the full challenge is met, with a collective goal of encouraging 150 classmates to participate with a gift of any size.
Not sure where you want to designate your gift? Browse areas to support and choose the school, scholarship, or program that is most significant to you.
Your participation honors decades of shared history and helps ensure future generations of students receive the same opportunities that shaped your WashU experience.
