The Buder Center Powwow at Washington University
About
The 35th annual Buder Center Powwow at Washington University will take place on April 12, 2025 in the Washington University Field House. The theme this year is: “Liberation: Restoring Connection to Relatives, Land and Stories”.
This is a student-coordinated event in which our scholars of The Kathryn M. Buder Center for American Indian Studies are responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Powwow. This includes engaging with dancers and drummers from across Native Nations while raising the funds necessary to host this educational and cultural event in the St. Louis area.
Powwows bring Native Americans and non-Native people together to dance, socialize, sing, celebrate and honor Native American/Alaska Native traditions and is free and open to the public.
