About

To encourage you to participate, your classmate Shane Carr, BS ’15, BS ’15, MS ’15, has established a generous Class of 2015 Reunion Challenge.

If only 50 more classmates give back, we’ll reach our goal, and Shane will contribute $10,000 to our Class Gift!

After studying Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, and Nanoscale Science at the McKelvey School of Engineering, Shane joined Google, where he now works as a Senior Software Engineer. His work focuses on the globalization of software, making technology accessible to everyone around the world. He also serves on international standards committees and contributes to the Google Code Jam.

While at WashU, Shane was active in WUPops Orchestra, the WashU Game Developers Society (WUGS), the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE), and Student Union. His research in computational chemistry led to publications in the Journal of Chemical Physics (JCP) and the International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML).

Shane is active in the San Francisco Bay Area alumni network, where he serves on the career and networking committee.
