About

Help us honor the legacy of Dr. Leon E. Ashford

Throughout his 39-year career at Washington University, Dr. Leon E. Ashford remained committed to helping students succeed. While Dr. Ashford was an early advocate for first-generation and Black students, the entire WashU and St. Louis communities benefited from his leadership and commitment. In similar spirit, the Black Alumni Council’s Endowed Scholarship Fund was established to support students who contribute to the diversity of the Washington University community. Potential candidates for the scholarship are full-time Juniors or Seniors in good academic standing with demonstrated need who contribute to the diversity of our campus and the WashU community. The scholarship is awarded each year in the fall semester.

Your contribution to the Black Alumni Council Endowed Scholarship Fund will help us celebrate Leon E. Ashford’s legacy of excellence and dedication by awarding a second scholarship each year in his honor. Please make a gift today.
